PROJECT

Tour and talks of dance produced about cultural heritage and history

Taking Nguvu iliyoganda (Frozen Power) to schools and community hubs in the rural regions of Tanzania that have limited access to art events. The dance uses a combination of Taarab and urban music styles to tell the story of Litti Kidanka, a Tanzanian woman ruler, who used bees to protect her land from colonial forces.  This dance production celebrates the crucial role of Tanzanian women in history and inspires women to continue to be active at the forefront of injustices, change and progress.
