Important Information

If you try these remedies and they do not help, or if memory loss starts to make your life difficult to manage.

Herbal Therapy

Rosemary Infusion Prepare an infusion from the leaves and drink.

  • Boil water and pour over herbs.  
  • Leave for 5-10 minutes.  
  • Filter through a clean cloth and use within 1 day.

Sweet Basil Inhale the smell of the leaves and flowers.

Ocimum gratissimum Inhale the smell of the leaves and flowers.    

Cold Water Extract
  • This is used to extract ingredients that are destroyed by heat.  
  • For the best results, cut leaves into small pieces or pound roots with a mortar and pestle.  
  • Soak plant parts in water overnight unless the recipe advises otherwise.
  • Filter before use.
  • Prepare freshly every day.

Corn Silk Solution Dissolve 1 tbsp powdered corn silk in 1 glass hot water. (Corn silk is the soft, stringy stuff that grows out the top of a maize cob.)     

  • This means preparing a powder from a part of the plant which is then dissolved in water.

Eat fresh white onion raw or cooked.

Body Work and General Advice

  • Avoid stress and anxiety-inducing situations wherever possible.
  • Manage and address the causes of your stress as much as possible.
  • Don't try to force your memory. Relax and allow it to come on its own.
  • Live positively by allowing yourself time for relaxation, listening to music, laughing, and socialising with and getting support from people.
