Conversations to increase community understanding
We invite members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-gender and intersex (LGBTI) communities into our meetings when we are discussing orientation, to engage in the conversations which increase community understanding on the issues.
We have developed compelling IEC materials that aim to foster understanding and break the barriers that exist in Kenya for talking about orientation and identity. We seek advice as we design these materials.
TICAH worked with ISHTAH MSM and Minority Women in Action to co-host sexuality groups with Lesbian women and gay men. TICAH has also co-hosted body mapping workshops with another partner, Art2Be, which have offered the lesbian and gay communities in Nairobi a chance to participate in body mapping workshops.
